Here are the influencers taking Instagram by storm with their aesthetically pleasing note-taking posts.
The rise of social media influencers has come in all different forms: whether it’s fashion or interiors inspiration you’re after, there’s something on Instagram for everyone. But the trend becoming increasingly popular by the day is not what you might expect.
Students sharing their notes from studies has seen a huge rise, in fact, if you search #notetaking on Instagram, over 340,000 posts come up. Here, Ivory Research takes a look at some of the UK’s most popular note-taking Instagram accounts, and how they built their following.
Studyholmes (267,000 followers)
Sarah is a fourth-year medical student who started sharing notes from her studies back in 2017. Fast forward to 2021, she now has over 267,000 followers (and counting!)
Study Kween (62,600 followers)
Anna is a medical student based in London and set up her account back in 2017 to document her time as a medical student. Anna’s colourful notes and quirky tips has seen her follower count grow beyond 62,000!
Aspiring Anatomist (25,800 followers)
Emily is an Anatomy Lecturer at Newcastle University who gained her following by sharing her notes while studying for her undergraduate Biomedical Science degree at the University of Sheffield.
Life of a Medic (16,300 followers)
Masumah Jannah is a fourth year Medical Student. She set up a blog (lifeofamedic.com) to help her reflect on experiences and share advice to applicants. Two years later, @lifeofamedic_ was set up and now boasts over 16,300 followers.
Masumah added “It was initially intended as a platform for reflection and sharing the day-to-day life of a medical student.”
Louise Does Life (8,700 followers)
Louise is an engineering student in Bristol and set up her note-taking account back in September. Her aesthetically pleasing grid and nuggets of advice has seen her follower count grow to over 8,700 in just three years.
