Graduate – UX Consultant
The Role…
We are looking for graduates who are interested in a career in technology and user experience (UX) to join us as a part of our Business Consulting practice. Business Consulting spans all stages of the digital delivery lifecycle, from strategy development to solution implementation. When you join, you will take part in our software delivery and consultancy training, before joining one of our projects to help us deliver the latest generation of digital online services for one of our public or private sector clients. We have a number of exciting projects for clients ranging from central government to start-ups. Our projects are delivered either from our offices in Aldgate, London or from our client’s offices.
We are specifically looking for talented, enthusiastic individuals to work in our Business Consulting Practice. Business Consulting spans all stages of the digital delivery lifecycle, from strategy development to solution implementation. This role offers you the opportunity to work in high-performing teams in a range of projects from large transformation programmes to bespoke solution development, with a range of clients using a broad range of technology solutions.
We find that our UX consultants in the highest demand have a very broad knowledge base, and at least some experience of all areas (but likely to have specialist knowledge in one or two). We recognize that graduates may not yet know where they want to specialise. We want our graduates to experience a broad range of activities and then hone in on the areas that suit their interests and skills.
Our UX Consultants focus on:
* High level strategy
* Understanding a business and their goals, then helping them to build a digital strategy.
* Understanding user needs
* Working closely with stakeholders and users to get insight into their requirements and behaviour. Using research and testing methods, coupled with analytics & data to gain insights.
* Designing great products
* Using the insight and our experience to craft fantastic and intuitive digital experiences.
Specialist skills required…
We have outstanding UX consultants who have a range of educational backgrounds, skills and experience.
We would expect
* A good quality degree or relevant professional qualification
* Candidates to have shown an interest/aptitude in human-centred technology. (This could be via their chosen degree, but could be via other means if they did not do a technical/scientific degree)
* The ability to take a pragmatic design approach and work within constraints (time, budget, context) to ensure the best outcome for user and and client alike.
* Some understanding of the digital development processes

* Other science/technology experience
* Awareness of project delivery/agile methodologies
About you…
Candidates should have a strong academic background and demonstrate genuine interest in human-centred technology.
We are looking for people who are logical, critical thinkers, who enjoy tackling different problems in a structured way, without stifling creativity and innovation. Our consultants should be highly motivated self starters, have great interpersonal and communication skills, integrity and a strong desire to deliver the best possible solutions for our clients.

The ideal candidates will share our values and be aligned with our ways of working. Candidates should be open to working in different locations for different clients. Although most of our work is in London, candidates should be happy to travel as client needs dictate.
Main duties…
You’ll be…
* Understanding user needs and client stakeholder requirements through workshops, interviews and other research techniques.
* Mapping user journeys, flows and business processes.
* Developing user profiles, personas and developing agile user stories.
* Defining information architecture and designing content.
* Developing and iterating wireframes / prototypes to test with users and validate product decision making.
* Using user / customer data (web analytics, user research, surveys) to pull out insights and finding ways to creatively, but concisely communicate these to project teams and client stakeholders
* Helping with internal projects and practice development
Typically, you will work on a particular project for 6-12 months before moving onto a new challenge. You will be part of a larger team, working with and learning from experienced consultants. As a business consultant, naturally you will work closely with our clients, helping to ensure that the project delivers great outcomes.
