Vision for Education are actively seeking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to work in SEND schools and settings in the Sheffield area.

The role

This excellent opportunity would be ideal for someone who has completed volunteer or paid experience in either school, care or coaching positions throughout within the last 2 years and are flexible in the type of schools and settings they will work in. Roles are available on both long term or day to day basis, which is a great way of broadening your skills sets and experience across a variety of provisions.

Your role as a Teaching Assistant/LSA will see you providing support to the class teacher and other LSA’s within classes across EYFS and Key Stage 5.

Working in a school can be challenging, but it is also highly rewarding to engage with vulnerable young people, families and other agencies to help them develop and achieve.

Requirements

To be considered for the position of Teaching Assistant/LSA, you will:

Be available on average at least 2-3 days a week
Be studying for a degree including but not limited to Early Childhood Studies/Special Educational Needs and Inclusion Studies/Sports Science/Psychology
Recent referenceable experience of 6 weeks plus within a related setting with children or adults (can be voluntary)
An interest to work with a range of SEND including MLD/SLD/PMLD/SEMH/PD/ASD/ASC and other complex needs
Have a creative, energetic, empathetic and resilient approach
Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of specialist teachers  
Have a passion for supporting students and teachers, with the ability to work in small groups and on a 121 basis
