Engineering: Design and Development
A variety of exciting placements based in our Research and Development department. You could get the opportunity to support engineers with design and technical tasks, assist with departmental project work and contribute your creative ideas and solutions in problem solving sessions.
General Engineering
Engineering opportunities based in our Purchasing, Manufacturing and Facilities departments. You could be involved in either, the introduction of component parts and materials, or production process planning and facilitation or in the maintenance of mechanical and electro mechanical equipment on site. You will assist in engineering projects and actively participate in continuous improvement and problem solving activities.
Business Intelligence/Product Requirements
A range of specialised roles dealing with either: changes to legislation, information and protection, business and market intelligence, safety and awareness or internal auditing. An investigative nature is ideal for these type of positions, which allows opportunity to interact with our departments at times of change and new opportunities whilst learning about the whole business.
Government Interaction and Industry Standards
Using several different databases, you will assist the Standards Manager in protecting the Company's products from being placed at a disadvantage in the market place by forthcoming changes in legislation or standards and gain an awareness of how these changes can impact on the business. Your responsibilities include tracking the progress of changes across a national and international cross-functional team of experts, as well as communicating departmental research to external parties, such as; trade bodies, Standards Committees and Government Departments. This job role provides multiple opportunities to communicate and discuss crucial issues that are affecting the business with senior management; therefore allowing opportunities for you to demonstrate existing knowledge and skills and demonstrate your development whilst on placement. You will be supported and encouraged to contribute to departmental practices, communicate with internal and external colleagues and meet business goals. This placement would suit a candidate looking for wider experience of business operations whilst maintaining a customer-focused attitude and overall improving their academic and life skills.
Design Project
