The Government Business Unit provides a range of IT solutions and managed services to local and central government bodies and healthcare trusts. Centerprise holds significant presence on Public Sector Frameworks with a dedicated team of sales professionals developing and securing sales opportunities.
The successful placement student will join the Government support team, working closely with the sales teams whose customer base range from Education, Healthcare and Central, Local and Devolved Government including the Welsh region.
The Government support team is key to the success of this Business Unit, with responsibility for the order processing of all sales that come through the wide reaching sales team, with additional responsibility for the generation of business intelligence, Business Analytics and Framework Information Management functions for each of the business areas.
The successful placement student will be trained in the sales support function, with responsibility for delivering the required support to ensure sales enquiries and orders are fulfilled.
The student will also be required to become competent in the use of the reporting tools (for example SharePoint 2016, QlikView, and HubSpot) in order to provide consistent and timely reporting to Director, Government.
At the end of this placement the student shall be able to:
* Competently process orders, building a wider understanding of the sales cycle and procurement process.
* Respond to queries and handle issues, learning to problem solve and use their initiative.
* Learn the required level of communication and professionalism to be successful in role.
* Identify tasks that need to be prioritised and work as a team to ensure team success.
* Provide Profit and Loss performance data and decision briefs as requested
* Be proficient in the development of stock holding decision briefs as requested
* Be able to analyse sales pipeline data and backorder in order to forecast performance.
In addition to the above core duties, there are a handful of in-house workshops that you can request to attend, covering a range of business related topics that aim to complement your placement experience.
There will also be the opportunity to volunteer with our charity and social committees to gain experience in creating ideas, helping to deliver team events and build great communication skills.
Notes:
Ad hoc tasking such as market analysis, investment case development, and project based work may be added at the discretion of Director, Government cognisant of business need and student ability.
Essential Experience and Skills
* Possess excellent written communication skills.
* Confident and professional when communicating verbally or in person.
* Possess the ability to prioritise workload.
* Familiar with Microsoft packages i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
* Genuine interest in the IT Industry.
* Previous experience in a customer focused environment.

* Be able to demonstrate experience in an office environment
