Trainee Design Engineer / Graduate required for a dynamic local manufacturing business.

The Company:

Crane Garden Buildings have been designing and manufacturing bespoke high quality timber buildings for nearly 50 years. Their Garden studios and summerhouses are sold through a network of Show sites across the UK as well as via John Lewis and the National Trust.

The Role:

The successful applicant will ideally have graduated from an Engineering or Product Design discipline and be looking to develop a career in the manufacturing sector. You will ideally have previous experience of having used AutoCAD and have a passion for architecture or manufacturing. You will need to be a logical thinker, with a high attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.

As a Trainee Product Designer you will gain valuable experience and work closely with all areas of business to ensure new concepts meet quality and manufacturing standards. You will be encouraged to both manage your own projects and support others being implemented.

Responsibilities:

* Design new products to ensure we continue to meet growing customer expectations

* Create detailed technical documentation to support new concepts (utilising CAD, Sketchup software)

* Able to work both individually and collaboratively on new projects

* Liaise across multiple areas of the business in order to achieve a common business objective

* Contribute ideas to new initiatives and improve the performance of the team

Requirements:

* Recently graduated in product design or engineering

* Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office products.

* Knowledge of CAD, sketch software

* A logical thinker, with a high attention to detail and the ability to problem solve

* Self- motivated, enthusiastic with a drive for further development

* Good written and verbal communication skills
