STEM Women Events Promoter – contract role suitable for 2019 graduate

Liverpool City Centre
Monday to Friday (full time)

Salary: £1,500 per month + £200 completion bonus

Contract dates: October only

Our office is opposite Moorfields Station in Liverpool City Centre.
We run graduate careers events for female university students who are studying a STEM (Science, IT, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline. In the space of 12 months we have become the market leader within this niche, growing sector. STEM Women ran 9 events throughout the UK during 2018, attracting in excess of 100 companies.

The Events Promoter role is seasonal and is intended to provide support at our busiest time of the year.

This is a broad role that requires a candidate to perform the following tasks:

Representing STEM Women on campus:

Throughout October the chosen candidate can expect to represent STEM Women at various university careers fairs. The events will be held by universities and will take place throughout the UK.
On the day of a careers fair the chosen candidate is likely to stand by a STEM Women event stand, to introduce our events to appropriate students and to sign-up students who would like to attend a STEM Women event.
It is likely that we will be exhibiting at circa 5 external events and we will provide accommodation on the evening before an event if required.
Event assistance:

Throughout October the chosen candidate can expect to help at our STEM Women events. There will be a mixture of tasks that are required, including producing lanyards, manning the reception desk and various "ad-hoc" event tasks.
It is likely that the chosen candidate will attend circa 3 external events and will travel the day before an event (staying in a hotel or air b n b the night before).

Due to the unpredictable nature of the events sector we may well require the chosen candidate to work on various ad-hoc tasks from time to time.

Educated to degree level in any subject.
Willingness to travel throughout the UK (mainly by train and a driving licence is not essential). We estimate circa 6 nights in hotels across October.
Self-motivated and willing to work independently.
Flexible working approach and ability to work as part of a close-knit team to achieve a common goal.
Well organised, capable of representing STEM Women in a professional manner and with an interest in the events sector
