Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant with experience in Speech and Language, for a Primary School in Skelmersdale. I am particularly seeking a Teaching Assistant who is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties as the school is a special school catering for said needs.

The school are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist / Graduate with the ability to welcome and assess young people, creating specialist programmes and setting targets to be delivered in class. You will work on a small group & 1:1 basis.

This role will suit someone emotionally resilient, non-judgemental, understanding and patient. The young people range from 4 – 11 years and carry their own emotional difficulties, struggle with social interaction and have difficulty in expressing their emotions positively at times, thus resulting in challenging behaviours and language. Therefore you must be confident in managing this.

Your role will be to inspire them to believe in themselves and assist them in overcoming barriers to speech and language, whilst offering opportunities they would never have thought they could be exposed to. Most importantly, you'll be that one person who never gave up, always believed and challenged them to do the same.

To be considered for this role you will need to:

' Have extensive speech and language experience or a degree in this subject

"    Be confident in managing challenging behaviours

"    Think on your feet and easily adapt to various situations

"    Be engaging, student-centred and communicate effectively

"  t  Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Safeguarding and Child Protection

The working hours will be roughly 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday from September (although the school may consider offering a 3 day per week role if this would suit the candidate better) and the school would like to meet suitable candidates ASAP!

Please send a copy of your CV to ASAP if you are interested in this role.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see (url removed)/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
