The School:

Our client is a highly academic independent fifth and sixth form college located in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham. Widely recognised as one of the top fifth and sixth forms in the country, this is a highly desirable post for any graduate teacher. Small class sizes, excellent resources and highly committed students all make for a truly unique and mature learning environment. The school has grown considerably in recent years with over 240 pupils currently on roll and the school recently added an extension which saw additional teaching rooms installed as well as a relocation of the student study centre and the introduction of a larger and improved staff room. The school is part of the Independent Schools Council and very highly rated in its latest ISI inspection, it has also been graded as “Outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted. Graduate Teachers sole duties focus around the academic side of life, with pastoral staff separated into a separate role. The teaching day can be long here (classes can go until 6pm), but the holidays are longer than the average independent school. If you want to teach highly able young adults in an intimate environment, then this post could suit you.

The Role:

A highly academic and engaging graduate or experienced teacher is required to teach Spanish to small groups of KS4/5 pupils, commencing as soon as possible, formal teaching qualifications and experience are not required. You will teach 12 hours a week to small classes of very able and committed students. The hourly pay rate starts at £21.88 per hour and holiday pay is pro rata’d accordingly. Staff can also top up hours via pastoral duties.

The Candidate:

You are not required to have any kind of formal teaching experience or qualification and our client is actively seeking engaging, dynamic graduates with an excellent knowledge of the subject with a 2:1 degree or higher.

If you do have the relevant requirements and would like to be considered for this opportunity please send through your CV, or call Liam at Connaught Education for more information.
