Career Teachers are looking to recruit a Pastoral/SEND Teacher to work within a specialist educational school in Manchester.
You will be working closely with class Teachers to plan the lesson and create innovative ways to ensure a supportive, creative learning environment where pupils can expand their knowledge and play a positive role in school life.
We would like to hear from you if you have experience of teaching SEND or have the relevant qualification required such as a QTS / PGCE with a SEND background.
To be successful for this Teacher position, you will require:
Experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Experience of supporting children with SEMH
Have a good understanding of how to engage students in lessons. This will be in relation to understanding their EHCP and daily support strategies.
Demonstrate and understand strong communication skills.
Understand students and be adaptive to understanding pupils and their needs.
The ability to be confident in monitoring students and their development, through teaching and learning that is intended.
Skills and experience required:
Have clear passion and drive for working with young people with SEND and their families.
Be committed to securing best outcomes for students.
Be methodical, organised and have excellent diligence.
Have experience of assessment and delivering literacy interventions.
Have excellent communication skills and be able to form strong working relationships with students, families, agencies, and staff.
Have some knowledge of statutory processes including EHCNA requests, EHCP reviews and access arrangements and/or be willing to learn about these.
Have some experience of leadership within a school.
Be kind, compassionate and empathetic.
