Schools Estate Graduate Surveyor

Job Summary

You will engage with School Headteachers, Business Managers, Site Managers and contractors to ensure that local schools remedial projects and repairs can be delivered effectively.

Job Role

Consult with Schools about remedial works and ensure that the contractors resident liaison function meets diverse customer's needs in the preparation and delivery of works.

Contribute to the development of policy, practice, procedures and service planning for Schools Asset Management and participate in projects, working groups, service developments, audits and reviews as directed.

Manage and ensure that allocated projects meet the projected budgets and take a proactive approach to ensure that the target costs are met

Monitor the progress of various projects and report on their performance.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in undertaking building surveying, including undertaking inspections, diagnosing defects, identifying breaches in building standards, specifying remedial works.

Experience of Project Management of complex remedial works.

Experience of building surveying methods, procedures and processes

Knowledge & experience of Building Regulations

Knowledge & experience of CDM regulations and their application in managing works

Ability to use a wide range of IT packages Excel, Word

Good communication skills both verbally and in written to a wide variety of stakeholders both internal and external

Ability to promote positive relationships and effective team work.

Ability to express a flexible, agile and responsive approach to work management and enquiries, monitoring communication and emails daily.

Keep concise and accurate case records and plan and organise workload efficiently and effectively.

Required Qualifications

Degree Qualification in a building or surveying related discipline

A member of or working towards Chartered Status with RICS, RIBA, CIOB or equivalent
