The Organisation:
Rise has a vision to create a higher quality of life for communities that need it the most in Northumberland and Tyne & Wear. Our purpose, which sets out how we intend to achieve that vision, is to help our partners to unlock the power of physical activity and collectively effect long-term system change in order to positively impact more lives across our region. We want to enable our partners to see things differently, work smarter, and maximise their results using physical activity.
Our values are the foundation of how we act individually and collectively as the Rise team. We will:
* Catalyse change: we believe that change is possible and we’re ready to lead the exploration;
* Positively disrupt: to challenge the norm and cause radical change through innovation and learning; and
* Collaborate: together we are greater than the sum of our parts. People make the change.
We work across Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland with a wide range of local, regional and national partners, including local authority leisure teams, public health, planners, transport teams, and the education, housing and criminal justice sectors to name a few, to make it easier and a more attractive proposition for people to be physically active.
We are particularly passionate about helping under-represented groups and those who are currently moving for less than 30 minutes per week.
We are a charity, funded and supported by Sport England and a number of other national and local organisations, and are part of a network of 42 Active Partnerships across the country.
