Ilika is a pioneer in solid state batteries. The company has developed miniature micro-fabricated solid-state batteries (Stereax) for Internet of Things (IoT) applications and is now developing large format solid-state cells for electric vehicles.

Overview of the role
The individual will be responsible for the day to day coordination and administration of Ilika’s QSHE processes and management systems. The role will include development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality and EHS Management Systems to meet requirements of the ISO standards (9001, 14001) and other applicable regulatory standards.
This position would benefit someone looking to expand or begin their career in QSHE.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
* Working with internal customers to ensure successful implementation of the QSHE management systems
* Coordinate, participate and lead internal QSHE audit activities
* Conduct internal investigations for near misses, accidents, NCR’s, CAPA’s, product returns, using a variety of root cause analysis techniques
* Control the product, process, matrices and EHS risk registers, and ensure staff compliance with documents
* Arrange for QSHE training in accordance with business and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to; First Aid and Fire Warden training
* Lead and support QSHE improvement projects
* Prepare QSHE KPI’s and assist with reports
* Monitor QSHE risk assessments, procedures and associated requirements, including issuance, control and actions which arise from these
* Support product reliability testing (Quality Control)
* Be an active member of the business Health and Safety Committee and Green Champions Environmental Team
* Escalate any concerns to the QSHE Manager in a timely and appropriate manner
Job requirements:
* A qualification in Health and Safety, such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Certificate would be advantageous
* Understanding of Quality and Environmental Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and 14001
* Some experience or knowledge of applicable Quality documentation (e.g. NCR’s, CAPA’s, 8D) or Health and Safety documentation (e.g. Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH assessments)
* Awareness of problem solving and root cause analysis tools.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Previous experience or understanding of audits
* Good attention to detail
* Effective at communicating at all levels within the company;
* Appreciation of confidentiality and discretion;
* Demonstrated ability to work well in a team.
