Psychology Graduate Support Worker
Veritas Education have an exciting opportunity for Psychology Graduates to work in a specialist setting supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Complex Needs.
The learners attending the school have a variety of different needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Communication Needs, PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) and medical/mobility needs too.
Across the setting, the school provides a variety of different ability classes for all children, coping and managing their needs to help them access their education to the best of their ability. The school has fantastic facilities to meet the needs of all children, along with a staffing team who are dedicated, passionate and caring when it comes to providing the best life and access to education for the learners attending the school.
Role:
Support children with their lessons and activities within the classroom
Interact with the children throughout the school day and assist on the playground
Be a fantastic role model and encourage positive behaviour
Be confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
An optimistic outlook and determination to make a difference to children's education
Hard working and flexible to meet the needs of the childrenRequirements:
2:2 in a Psychology university degree
GCSE in Maths and English
Previous experience in an educational or care setting is desirable
Relevant training and certificates such as Team Teach is desirable, although training can be offered by Veritas
Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration
Have proof of eligibility to work in the UKWhat we offer
