Smile Education are currently working with a fantastic special educational needs (SEN) school in the Nottingham area, and we are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology graduates eager to make a difference to the lives of students with additional learning needs, such as Autism or ADHD. This role is a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable experience while providing crucial support to students with special educational needs. It is perfect for those who have future aspirations to be in teaching or Educational/Clinical Psychology and wish to gain additional experience before embarking on further training.
As a graduate teaching assistant in an SEN school, you will:
Plan and deliver one-to-one and small group interventions.
Help manage classroom behaviour.
Assist the class teacher in creating a diverse and stimulating learning environment.
Support and encourage students and be sympathetic to the challenges they may face.
What are we looking for in a graduate teaching assistant?
A Psychology degree
A genuine passion for supporting those with special educational needs
Previous experience supporting vulnerable children or adults.
