The Organisation:

Our client are looking for a Communications Officer who is passionate about delivering innovative communications to promote their business.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the post holder will be responsible for the day to day communication needs of the organisation and the delivery of the on-line and social media presence.

The Role:

The position is part-time working 22.5 hours per week from the company's Stockton office.

As the newly created Communications lead for the organisation you will be required to write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels, including our website, social media, the press and marketing materials. You will be required to liaise directly with the senior management team, a wide range of colleagues from across the organisation, partners, stakeholders, press and others as required. You will be media savvy and be able to write and edit website pages.

You will have the ability to work independently, on your own initiative to plan, prioritise and make decisions effectively in order to meet tight deadlines. You will be involved in all aspects of communications and will be able to write clearly and succinctly for different audiences.

Applicants should have good academic skills or relevant professional experience of working in a communications or social media environment. A flexible approach is important. You will be based at our office in Stockton on Tees, however at times you will be expected to travel around the north east area and very occasionally work out of office hours.

Strategy:

* Develop and implement a digital marketing strategy to drive participation in SITV,s campaigns and projects

* Gather key learnings from SITV’s digital activities to aid planning for future digital campaigns

* Develop and implement a social media strategy to ensure SITV’s projects are rolled out across social networks

* Ensure all projects fit well within the wider campaign digital context, maximising existing opportunities and developing new ones

* Be responsible for ensuring that SITV’s brands are present and accurate and in line with messaging within social networking media and across campaign websites

* Ensure digital marketing strategies are rolled out and implemented internally across departments and project teams.

* Be responsible for keeping on top of external research and developments in the wider digital world in order to drive innovation and feed into planning processes.

Duties and responsibilities:

* To ensure that the day to day online and social media needs of our client are met.

* To provide a range of communications services supporting managers and staff in promoting a positive image of the organisation with the public, partners and other key stakeholders.

* To proactively develop and maintain the company websites.

* To ensure the correct branding is applied in all communications.

* To ensure all website content is accurate, relevant and up to date.

* Actively promote the social media pages to increase the number of subscribers and monitor the impact of content posted.

* Analyse web visitor statistics to identify popular postings, pages and content.

* To support the Chief Executive in preparing strategic plans and reports.

* To provide professional advice and support the services team’s in promoting and marketing their work.

* To prepare press releases and liaise with the press as required.

* To work with subject matter experts to coordinate communication plans and support them in developing relevant communication materials.

* To maintain a bank of professional images and ensure the organisation has consent to use in their publications.

* To ensure all communications meet accessibility standards and legislative requirements.

General Information:

Essential role requirements

Canidates must be educated to degree level in a relevant subject field. Excellent verbal, written and digital skills are also a must. Candidates must be abvle to work independently and be able to plan, prioritise and make affective decisions. The ability to write clearly and succinctly for different audiences is also a must. Candidates must also have previous experience or working in communications or social media and be able to present to a variety of audiences with the ability to tailor communication styles to suit the audience.

Desirable:

Ideally candidates will be able to demonstrate commitment to voluntary sector working and have experience of working with young people or vulnerable groups. Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is also desirable.
