We are currently working in partnership with a Secondary School in Bury St Edmunds to appoint a confident Maths Graduate who has aspirations of qualifying as a Maths Teacher in the future.

***Maths Graduate role at an expanding Secondary School in Bury St Edmunds
***Supporting the Maths Teachers within the department to make Maths a vibrant, popular and successful subject!
***Varied role that will involve working as a Teaching Assistant, Intervention Tutor or Maths Instructor
***Interviews taking place immediately with role commencing in November/December
***Maths Graduate role will initially last until the end of the academic year
***Opportunities to progress on to Maths teacher training from September 2020
***£65-£88 per day (dependent on specific role)

Maths Graduate Specification

To be considered for this role you must have the combination of excellent academics and an obvious passion for education. Specifically, you must have at least a 2:1 degree in Maths and be fully committed to qualifying as a Maths Teacher in the future. We are particularly keen to receive applications from Maths graduates who already have experience working alongside the 11-16 year age range so that you can demonstrate that you are able to build a positive rapport and fully engage children/young adults of this age range. You will have a confident personality, a good sense of humour and enjoy the prospect of presenting Maths lessons to small and large groups of students. You will be able to stay calm and remain positive even in challenging situations.

About the Maths Graduate Role

This role will combine working as a Teaching Assistant within a Maths Department with the aim of progressing onto you leading some of your own groups. Training and support will be given to ensure that the successful graduate feels confident to complete the role effectively. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be tasked with motivating and progressing the learning of students who are struggling to grasp a particular area of Maths. You will be effective in identifying which students require additional support and have the ability to simplify the lesson/task to enhance their understanding. As the role progresses, you will get the opportunity to deliver pre-set Maths lessons as a Maths Cover Supervisor. In time, you will get the chance to create and plan your own activities to give you a full taste of what life is like as a Maths Teacher!
