Our retained client, an innovative company based in Leeds, is an international pioneer in materials engineering and product development and is setting up a new Science Graduate Development Programme to support, train and develop recent or upcoming PhD students working in these fields.
Working with a range of customers, many of them large multinationals, they design and develop products for a variety of sectors and applications. With extensive pilot facilities and a state of the art analytical laboratory they fast track innovation; helping clients to grow their business by:
* Developing new products and intellectual property
* Assessing the viability of new products
* Enhancing the performance & reducing the cost of existing products
* Identifying and evaluating new markets for existing products
* Reducing the environmental impact of products
The Accelerated Development Programme
This development programme will involve 3 or 4 months of detailed Material Science training with a senior member of staff for 3 hours per week, lab experience and shadowing Innovation Engineers/Scientists on live projects. Mentors will be available to help you progress to the next level and guide you through a role with more hands-on testing, analysis, projects, etc.
About You
* You’ll have completed (or be close to completing) a PhD in Non Woven, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Biochemistry or a related subject
* You’ll be inquisitive and interested in learning
* You’ll have strong analytical, problem solving, and numerical skills
* You’ll have the ability to write technical reports and present to clients
* You’ll be able to work both independently and, in as part of a team
* You’ll have good laboratory skills and a keen interest in working with state of the art equipment
