The Organisation:
The organisation is a local authority in South Tyneside with responsibility for providing a wide range of public services to its residents, working at locations across the local area and wider North East region. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ICT Support Graduate Intern to join the team, providing ICT technical support to customers and carrying out general administrative and clerical duties within the ICT service.
The Role:
The recent graduate(s) will join the organisation at an exciting time and will support in the provision of first and second line ICT technical support to customers as part of the Customer Support Team. The Customer Support Team is responsible for providing efficient, reliable and cost effective end-user devices, adhering to appropriate standards and procedures and ensuring that performance targets are met.
Daily tasks will be varied but will include:
– Installing, configuring and testing end-user device hardware and software
– Provide technical support, advice and guidance to computer users in respect of end-user device hardware and software
– Creating and updating computer user accounts
– Provide advice, guidance and support in the use of standard computer applications
– Resolving technical problems quickly and effectively
– Keep accurate and comprehensive records of all service desk calls and service fulfilment requests in the computer management system
– Maintain hardware and software inventory records
– Produce and maintain relevant documentation
– Assist with ICT related project work
