Job Title: Grad/Undergrad Quantity Surveyor

Job Type: Permanent                     

Location:  Chelmsford 

Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 (Depending on experience)

Company & Project:
Our client, a multi-disciplinary construction company is looking for a grad/undergrad Quantity Surveyor to oversee a commercial project in Slough. Previous experience of working for a main contractor is desirable, however, other applications will be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities:

To assist with the negotiation of sub-contract orders
Preparing sub-contract order requisitions
Be able to accommodate site visits as required.
Provide feedback on commercial matters to management
Other commercial administration activities as may be required from time to time
Maintaining sub-contract payment/charges registers
Carrying out of weekly sub-contract payments
Producing weekly cost and value reports
Managing centralised cost allocation system
Be pro-active in developing new systems to meet changing operational needs.
Desirable Experience:

Experience of working with a main contractor
Qualifications & Skills:

Degree qualified
A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
Strong numeracy and financial management skills
The ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages
The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
Negotiation and team work skills
The ability to motivate and lead those on site
A detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters.
