Who are we!
Horizon Care & Education are looking for a motivated Graduate Therapeutic Practitioner (GTP) to join our passionate team, delivering a comprehensive consultation lead therapeutic service for children in our care. This role involves providing support and oversight to teams in residential homes (3-4 bed) for children who have experienced significant trauma and adversity within their lives.
This is a home-based role, from where you will regularly visit the residential homes in your region to support consultations and provide support to residential teams and carry out assessments and interventions with the young people.
Supporting training delivery is an important aspect of the role. At Horizon we train all our staff in our Shine Therapeutic model which includes DDP/PACE therapeutic parenting.
What you'll get to do
To support evidence based therapeutic and psychologically led care under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner
To develop, write and regularly review/update therapeutic assessment and support plans for children and young people in residential care under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner.
To support the development of, and contribute to, the delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to all staff in the organisation as part of the Therapeutic Academy under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner.
To deliver bespoke therapeutic psycho-educational interventions to children and young people where appropriate, under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner.
To contribute to the development of a therapeutically informed service across education and residential teams under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner.

Undergraduate degree, or equivalent level qualification, in relevant field i.e., Psychology, Sociology, working with Children and Young People
Eligible for student membership with BPS.
Full UK Driving Licence and use of your own vehicle.
You must be willing to undertake any training or qualifications as deemed necessary by the organisation.
Experience of working with Children and Young People or relevant demonstrable transferable skills
A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice
Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to work autonomously with the support from individual and peer supervision
Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values
A sound understanding of Microsoft Office components, including knowledge of Excel, Teams and SharePoint
