My client a leading solutions provider are seeking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer with a passion for Linux and wants to train and move up into the DEVOPS world.

As a Technical Support Engineer, your primary role will be to demonstrate experience in delivering sound and confident technical advice to customers in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a technical degree, with Linux knowledge, ideally with Apache and MySQL/MariaDB. You must be capable of working effectively within a small team to provide a high level of service to both external and internal customers and will relish the opportunity to work with the latest technologies. 

As a member of our highly regarded Customer Success Team, you will be required to work a 1 in 4 weeks evening shift from 2pm to 11pm, with the flexibility to work from home when working time is outside of Core Hours. 

You'll get to
*Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical support issues and Linux 
*Interact directly with customers by phone and e-mail/ticketing system 
*Provide and process information in response to enquiries, concerns and requests regarding products and services with accuracy, speed and professionalism 
*Champion our internal processes to ensure we always deliver a high quality and efficient service to our customers 
*Work collaboratively to build and maintain productive working relationships with Customer Support Team members and other departments, to ensure customer needs are met and issues are resolved 
*Demonstrate your willingness to contribute directly and indirectly to other functions within Customer Success 

You'll have…
*Some Linux experience in CentOS, RedHat, Debian or Ubuntu
*Experience with querying databases, e.g. MySQL / MariaDB
*Comfort with the Linux command line, installing software etc
*Excellent written and verbal communications skills 

… and maybe you have
*An interest in AWS, InfluxDB, Ansible, Apache, Node, Angular  
*Scripting experience in Bash, Python or Perl 
*Knowledge in database tuning and troubleshooting
