A manufacturer of specialist chemical consumer goods are looking to recruit a Technical Sales Executive to their team, based close to Northampton.

As a well established and growing family run company, a personable, naturally confident nature and an excellent understanding of chemistry is exactly what they are looking for.

The role can be office or field based, will involve liaising with and building long lasting relationships with clients, as well as spending some time in the development and testing labs, working alongside the lab chemists to ensure your knowledge of the products is continually updated.

Key responsibilities:

* Project managing of existing own label business, whereby steering new prospects through the process of developing an own label product or eco-range

* Spend plenty of time at the factory/lab with relevant technical personnel and they would have use of the

* Using the new ‘consultation room/lab’ to invite own label customers in for briefing/samples or general discussion.

* Working closely with the lab, the purchasing dept and other members of the team to make sure the whole process runs smoothly… listening and understanding brief, translating it to the lab, managing customer expectations, timelines, costings… making suggestions re packaging, closures, applications etc.

* challenge existing methods of supply, with new ideas around sustainability

* Respond to all inbound enquiries and also to seek out new opportunities that fit well with the company capabilities and vision

* Attend trade shows and trade events to generate new business in this area

* Research of CLP labelling, basic understanding of ingredients & raw materials

* To do costings and present to brand owners

Knowledge, experience, attributes:

* BSc or higher in Chemistry or closely related subject – essential

* Personable, naturally confident nature

* Excellent presentation and communication skills

* Knowledge of basic formulation chemistry
