** OFSTED (2019) "Excellent Support Management"
My client primary school is seeking an additional teaching assistant to join their primary school based in Central London – Westminster. The school is situated close to the local underground station. This is a full-time position, on a long-term basis; you will be expected to stay till the end of the academic year.
The head teacher is looking to appoint a devoted and caring teaching assistant to work alongside a girl in reception class on the autistic spectrum with some behavioural difficulties. She is a great learner and a keen worker but requires focus and assistance. This type of role would suit someone who has patience and enthusiasm for working with children and learning difficulties.
You must be reliable and show you have the ability to help and guide younger children within their educational and behavioural difficulties. The school provides exceptional care, guidance and support and bespoke pathways for their ASD students and you will certainly be provided with every ounce of support, however you will be expected to give 100% dedicated and commitment.
You will be required to:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support on a daily basis.
Have at least a 2:2 UK degree.
Have some previous child related experience.
Experience working with children and 'learning difficulties' is beneficial but not essential. In return for your enthusiasm and willingness to contribute to a dynamic teaching team, you will be encouraged to continue your professional development in a successful school. The Head would be pleased to receive applications from experienced SEN teaching assistants and graduates with an understanding of ASD or voluntary experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate looking to kick-start their career working in educational psychology.
**School based interviews will take place in February and those in possession of a fully enhanced current DBS can potentially start straight away
