A secondary school in Havering is looking for a passionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant who can adapt and work with a boy with complex need through his academic journey.

What does the SEMH Teaching Assistant role entail?

The school are advertising for a caring graduate to join the SEN unit and work as a SEMH Teaching Assistant with a small class of mixed ages.

The role will require you to work with your class on their academic and social learning plans. The SEMH Teaching Assistant will support their class through his academia and give the social and emotional understanding required for the development.

It is essential for this role that you are able to work in a behavioural challenging environment and have the relevant experience doing so. Non-graduates with extensive experience within SEN/PMLD/SEMH will be considered, and any training within Makaton/PECS/TeamTeach will be extremely advantageous.

Location: Havering, East London
Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant – graduate or experienced SEN workers wanted!
Pay: £70-£80 a day
Duration: Starting September on a full-time, long-term basis
Specifications: Minimum 2:2 degree with a strong and resilient nature (non-graduates considered with extensive experience)
Desirable: Training or experience working within SEN or behavioural roles.
