We are seeking a Graduate Solar PV Technical Design Engineer. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing renewable energy systems, including solar PV, and ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency. Your responsibilities will include producing initial desktop proposals and in-depth designs following site visits. You will collaborate with various team members, engage with clients, and work closely with technical experts. Your role will be essential in maintaining MCS certification and ensuring projects continue to meet the highest industry standards.
Produce solar PV designs, incorporating additional renewable assets as needed, with a focus on efficiency.
Accompany team members on site visits to gather essential information for optimal system design.
Balance suitable assets within each system's design to meet client needs.
Collaborate closely with customer-facing team members to ensure a streamlined process, both internally and for clients.
Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) regarding new grid connections (G99 applications).
Maintain MCS certification standards by keeping project logs for annual renewal.
You must have:
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Renewable Energy.
Knowledge of correctly sizing inverters and batteries for solar arrays and proficiency in CAD software.
Advanced analytical skills to interpret half-hourly data and forecast accurate payback periods.
A Proactive approach to producing designs and proposals to support the sales team.
Experience in designing solar arrays (Advantageous).
Understanding of energy storage, including its appropriateness based on electricity usage and financial impact (Advantageous).
Knowledge of a range of renewable technologies available in the current market and an interest in exploring new technologies (Advantageous).
Understanding of heating systems (Advantageous).
Knowledge of UK regulations (Advantageous).
