This well-established and successful business offers a suite of software products and associated services to businesses across the World, and from a variety of industry sectors.
Due to their busy workload (yes even during the lockdown) they are looking to take on one, maybe two, Graduate Software Developers.
The main product models real-time situations and is used by businesses in a range of industry sectors; it helps them with a wide range of operations and functions.
The Suite is written in C# as a collection of Windows desktop applications (WinForms) and services communicating through a message broker with databases and some web front ends. A number of inter process communication methods are used ranging from sockets through to WCF.
It’s a small team, and the business has a friendly, flexible approach.
Some of the main areas you will be involved with are:
* Maintain and develop the current suite of software products
* Support the product release cycle that makes the software available as a product to the market.
* Create scalable, automated solutions for the customer base
* Focus on creating fault-tolerant programming using good coding practices
* Write tests for existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability
* Develop new software products from the ground up, staying true to the company’s core values and needs while lending your own creativity to the mix
* Creating and maintaining web applications for international clients- and in time there could also be some travel involved.
Don’t worry if not all of this is familiar as training will be given.
You should be a recent graduate with a degree in Software Engineering or Information Technology, together with experience with C#, Python and other programming languages.
Knowledge of WinForms based application development, an in-depth understanding of web client-server coding, and working knowledge of SQL would be an advantage.
The offices are based not far from Harrogate, next to the A1, so areas such as Teeside, Leeds, Ripon, York are commutable- and in-time you could be working from home for most of the week or from Leeds if all goes well
