Graduate Rail Engineer – South London
Our client, a multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for a graduate rail engineer to join their team based in South London.
You could be based in Glasgow, Crawley, and Manchester.
September 2022 could be your month to get your career off to a great start using your academic knowledge and practical experience as a graduate rail engineer. You will join a friendly team who will offer training to complete innovative design solutions to help shape the rail networks of the future.
This exciting role will involve:
Detailed design of railways, design, construction, and operation of all types of rail transport systems.
Preparing the full engineering data package required for commencement of detailed designs.
Assist and solve on-going clarifications/queries.
Managing engineering interfaces of allocated proposals across disciplines.
Undertaking the development of engineering options for proposal for railway and infrastructure projects ensuring safety, reliability, and ease of construction.
Ensure designs consider environmental issues.
Aided development of drawings, reports, and specifications using AutoCAD.
Training and support to work towards membership of a relevant institution.
You will be expected to have an awareness of health, safety, and welfare regulations and the importance of this in your team.Requirements
Engineering degree in relevant discipline with a grade of 2:1 or higher with a keen interest in Railway Engineering.
Desire to work to chartership.
Written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, compromising planners, designers, engineers, and technicians.
Able to manage your own time to meet project deadlines and budget targets.
Possess a sound understanding of the Construction Design Management (CDM) 2015 Regulations & Common Safety Method (CSM) 2013 Regulations, specifically the designer's requirements.
