Graduate Quantity Surveyor – Structural Steel

Hunter Mason Consulting are working with a leading specialist contractor supplying the construction industry with Structural Steelwork and Architectural Metalwork. They provide design, manufacture, and installation services across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK.
Hunter Mason Consulting are looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor with experience of the construction / engineering sectors, who will be responsible for the commercial running of projects from start to finish whilst promoting best practice and working relations with clients.
The graduate quantity surveyor will learn from an extremely experienced quantity surveyor, with over 16 years of experience in this company.
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, your roles and responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labor.
* Preparing tender and contract documents.
* Identifying and weighing up commercial risks.
* Assigning work to subcontractors.
* Tracking changes in plans or constructions and updating budgets.
* Negotiating with contractors and subcontractors.
* Preparing payments for contractors and subcontractors.
* Developing and maintaining working relationships with contractors and subcontractors.
* Identifying potential financial or construction risks.
* Cost planning.
* Liaising with clients to identify their needs.
* Attending meetings with clients and advising them on any commercial issues that arise.
