My client is a regional residential developer who are looking for a Graduate Planner to join their Residential Property Development team. The role will be involved in the whole development process from site identification, design and planning, all the way through to construction and completion.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role, preferably working for a residential property developer or a housebuilder where work included the design and development of residential schemes in the UK.

The successful candidate must also be technically competent and must be able to produce technical, scaled drawings using AutoCAD along with an understanding of how to use Revit.

Knowledge of vehicle tracking software, within AutoCAD, would be advantageous, but not essential.

The Graduate Planner main responsibilities and tasks will include:

– Carrying out research to find potential new property development sites;

– Assessing sites and preparing initial site appraisals;

– Preparing reports to discharge planning conditions;

– Assist with legal negotiations as required and support Section 106 agreements;

– Preparing planning applications and outline applications, writing Design Statements and other supporting documents;

– Experience of using AutoCAD software and ArcGIS to produce detailed plans and scale drawings;

– Designing residential schemes and layouts within AutoCAD;

– Liaise with Local Authorities, landowners, neighbouring residents and Parish Councils as required;

– Providing general support to the wider Development Team and reporting to the Directors.

The candidate must be a team player as well as being able to work as an individual, be an excellent communicator and have great attention to detail. They must be able to also work to tight deadlines and able to handle several tasks/projects at the same time. Being a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) would be desirable.
