Job Title: Graduate PCB Designer

Location: East Lake

Type: Permanent

Salary: £25,000 – £26,000

My client, a global engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture and operation of sophisticated bespoke drilling equipment in the Oil and Gas industry is looking for a Graduate PCB Designer with training provided.

My client’s services include consultancy, design, drilling, R and D etc. The opportunities offered in this organisation are numerous and exciting.

Responsibilities:

• To work closely with electronics and mechanical engineering departments to produce PCB Layouts from circuits that meet strict, specific requirements.

• Undertake design of simple mechanical parts.

• To provide electronic engineers with prototype PCBs.

• To be engaged in the electrical design and maintenance of wireline products, working within the R&D Engineering department and providing assistance to production where required.

• To draw and assist in the design and maintenance of electrical wiring diagrams, wound components, circuit diagrams, etc. producing and maintaining assembly drawings and data.

• To maintain fabrication drawings and data to enable the manufacture of PCBs.

• To ensure the services delivered within the work remit are on time, within budget and are at the required level of quality.

• To fully support existing product and carry out any other duties as reasonably required by the PCB Supervisor.

Necessary Skills /Attributes:

• HND or Degree in Electronics and proven practical skills.

• Experience with drawing /CAD packages.

• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Software.

• Able to read, understand and interpret circuit diagrams and mechanical drawings.

• Flexibility to work additional hours if required.

• Good communication skills.

• Intrinsic interest in electronics and engineering.

• Must be willing to learn, have an enthusiastic work ethic, paying attention to detail in all areas and must work well as part of a team.

Desired Skills / Attributes:

• PCB layout experience.

• Practical electronic skills such as wiring, soldiering and component recognition.

• IPC standards knowledge or qualification.

• Health and Safety training.

• UK Driving licence.
