Graduate OR junior Embedded and electronics Test engineer (Medical devices)
Oxford 50% onsite work and 50% remote – but on a varying schedule.
£25,000 – £45,000 dependant on skills and experience
This role is for a engineer from a embedded OR electronics background who has got hands-on testing experience with a (medical) device, OR at a minimum and any electronics/hardware knowledge; neither how far "test-automation" experience reaches (when mentioned), e.g. proficiency in developing hardware emulation code in, say, Python.
The ideal applicant is a graduate with some knowledge of electronics and software who is keen to learn about medical device development by intensive usage of our devices, exploring all aspects and developing auxiliary tools to do so.
If you are more of a junior candidate this job spec is more what you should expect to develop into over the next year or so.
They should have an aptitude for the tasks listed. We can teach the details.
Major Responsibilities
Drive the testing effort within project constraints, while accounting for applicable standards, and established company processes.
Create and update requirements driven test sets, test cases and test environments (hardware and software), and required documentation.
Work within the company's Quality Management System.
Regularly execute tests, and ensure that all test outcomes are fully documented.
Work with all relevant stakeholder towards identification and resolution of software problems.
Identify test resourcing requirements and tools to complete all test activities.
Support, as required, other teams for development and characterisation activities.
The role may involve hands on testing in an ultrasound lab using electronics equipment to support rapid product development and testing.
Skills & Experience
The Software and System Tester will be expected to interact with QA and understand their requirements for software design and verification process documentation, and will have proven experience of:
A BSc degree in a relevant field.
2 years of experience in verification
safety critical software verification, ideally within a medical device environment, though other comparable environments will be considered: rail, automotive and aerospace for example, test planning and test case creation for PC based systems, taking ownership of all test activities and ensuring that they are completed to the required standards and timescales.Desirable skills include:
Knowledge of C++, Python
Experience of software verification adhering to European and US standards
Experience with electronic test and measurement equipment
Hardware emulation for testing purposes
