You will also learn how to handle samples, how to request the correct laboratory analysis, review and present data and write concise reports.

Once you have passed your initial 12 week working period successfully, you will start the BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society) training process – this is a combination of formal examinations and CPD that will continue throughout your career, with full support.

This is a 12-week graduate paid internship with a view to becoming a permanent role. * Monitor potential exposure to harmful substances in the workplace and interpreting and communicating these results to the relevant people

* Recommend control measures to minimise exposure and developing strategies which will control hazards at the workplace

* Support clients in completing risk assessments and developing management strategies for eliminating or controlling hazards

* Communicate the legal requirements of occupational hygiene to the client’s management and workforce

Skills and Experience :

* A science or technology-related undergraduate degree, such as: Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Health science, Mathematics, Medical science, Medicine, Nursing

* Analytical and methodical approach to problem-solving

* Ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.

* Energetic, enthusiastic and attention to detail at all times

* Good verbal communication skills to be able to explain what you require from the client while on site and be able to explain your report to the client

* Excellent and clear written communication skills – you’ll need to write reports explaining the data you have collected and your findings

* The ability to prioritise and multitask

* Commitment to protecting workers’ health and safety

* An interest in the law and the ability to understand regulations

* Driving license with no more than 3 points
