Graduate Mechanical Development Engineer required for an established provider of hydraulic systems and services. This is a great opportunity for an engineering graduate looking to working in a product design and development focused role in a company that can offer career progression into a lead development testing/ R & D role for the right individual.

The successful engineer will hold a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and have a real interest in development and projects work. You will need to be confident working as part of a small team as well as individually and you will need to have a strong analytical approach. Any experience working with prototypes, test rigs and product development through work experience, year in industry or academia is highly desired.

Your role will be to help develop disruptive technology for the hydraulic and fluid power industry. You will be split between hands on work on test rigs and with prototypes and reporting and analysing the results. You will help to develop existing products and design new products with new product functions and new applications for the end user. You will work alongside the Engineering Director and a team of dedicated design engineers in creating conceptual 3D designs and be able to take ownership of long term projects. You will be allowed to be creative and generate novel design ideas and methods of testing.

The Role:

* Product design and development for the hydraulic and fluid power industry.
* Prototype manufacture, assembly, test and develop fluid power products.
* Cradle to grave project management.
* Liaising with manufacturing sites to create prototypes.
* Analysis of results and implications of new applications.
* Progression into lead development role.

The Graduate Mechanical engineer:

* Masters degree or equivalent in mechanical, aerospace, automotive or similar transferable engineering discipline.
* High level of analytical skills and desire for continual learning and improvement.
* Previous experience using 2D and 3D CAD.
* Hands on experience with test rigs/ prototypes highly desired
