Graduate Marketing Strategist
Location: Oxford OX1 1XX, UK (though staff are working remotely during lockdown)
Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum (6-month probationary period)
Contract: Full time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
Are you a bright graduate about to take that important first step in your career? And are you looking for a job in which curiosity is a core value, where you can build your skillset, learn about the different aspects of marketing, and demonstrate your commercial flair?
Or perhaps you are a few years into your career, and you are ready for a fresh challenge and a chance to have a hand in delivering an ambitious new business strategy.
At Global Water Intelligence, we are looking for a brilliant Marketing Strategist to play a key role in supporting the team in developing and executing our GWI Networks strategy from a marketing perspective.
GWI Networks is our newly launched set of market-focused virtual business networks currently delivered through online events.
Our business is based on being a trusted interface between our clients and their markets. We provide business-critical news and marketing intelligence publications, proprietary data and research tools, and global and niche conferences and networks. Our position as a market leader is based upon the interface between these three areas.
We see our objective as creating intelligent networks that align people and ideas to help the water industry, which is often inefficient and slow to innovate, to work better for all stakeholders.
You will help us reach our customers with a message that is highly targeted to their needs, interests and solving their challenges. To engage these segments of our audience, we have been developing a Networks / Channels strategy that will "Netflixise" our offering.
The pandemic has halted our ability to host in-person events such as the Global Water Summit, so we intend to develop new ways to create value for our clients in a no travel environment which will continue to be a valuable part of our portfolio after the return of in-person conferences.
Following a series of successful inaugural GWI Networks events, this is an exciting and fast-paced area of business where you can make a real impact on the future of the business by deepening our engagement with different segments of the market.
About the Marketing Strategist:
As a Marketing Strategist, you will develop an in-depth understanding of our market niches and deliver effective marketing campaigns to engage customers and potential clients across the Networks.
You also will have the opportunity to learn about all facets of marketing, including website management, digital marketing, customer engagement, email marketing, social media, copywriting, market research and database management. In time, the focus of the role will be tailored to your strengths and is a great opportunity for you to carve your niche in the team.
The job will involve:
* Researching our clients and developing a nuanced understanding the dynamics of different market niches
* Helping to develop and promote content that adds value to different market participants
* Devising and managing campaigns to engage key communities in the GWI Networks brand
* Writing engaging website and email copy targeting professionals with deep domain expertise
* Maximising engagement / sales via all marketing channels
* Working to tight deadlines whilst meeting high standards
* Full project management of event marketing campaigns, requiring coordination of many moving parts
* Building strong and collaborative relationships with the internal teams who work on the Networks and events
The job will also encompass assisting the Events & Communities Marketing Manager on other event brands including Ultrapure Micro and the Produced Water Society when required. You will also work on our major global conferences – the Global Water Summit and the American Water Summit – when we are able to run these again.
Experience:
We are happy to consider both graduates and candidates with experience in a similar role.
No marketing experience is necessary.
About Global Water Intelligence:
Global Water Intelligence is an ambitious company with around 70 employees based in Oxford, Austin (Texas) and Shanghai. We publish market-leading magazines, databases, and reports on the international water industry and run a series of successful regional and global events.
