It would be advantageous if you demonstrated the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and thrive in fast-paced environments and had a real passion for working in a customer-focused environment.
You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject with a minimum achievement of a 2:1 classification.
What might my 2-year programme entail?
The role of logistics graduate will report to the cement & lime national logistics manager and form part of the team covering operations across the UK.
To work within and support the logistics function in this fast-paced business. You’ll gain the essential experience in warehousing, inbound material planning, scheduling, road, rail and shipping logistics, operations management, finance and key performance indicator setting. You’ll also be supporting current distribution offices, with specific support to major projects
As the successful candidate, you will undertake a tailored 24 month development programme which will include working within the supply chain business unit in cement & lime where you’ll be looking at defined projects in logistics, supply planning, rail operations, fleet management, depot operations including blending of cement, contract management and 3PL operations and be assigned a business unit wide continuous improvement project. There will also be the potential for secondments to other parts of the business to ensure that you develop a good understanding of the whole business by the end of the development programme.
This role is part of a national team which sits within the cement & lime logistics department, consisting of a national logistics manager, regional distribution and transport managers, contract manager, and depot / supply planning teams.
As part of this programme you’ll benefit from the rotations which will require you to spend periods of time at another site in the UK for up to 3 months at a time, so mobility is essential.
The experience gained will be diverse encompassing all departments within the logistics function including operational management covering, people, customer service, road, rail, shipping and contract management, building and operating Departmental budgets, understanding key performance indicators, imports and exports.
