In this Learning support Assistant role, you must be a willing and motivated graduate who has a positive approach to problems. Experience, whether that be voluntary or paid, would be ideal with a SEN background. If you lack experience but instead you have a real passion for supporting challenging students, ensuring they have the best possible start in life, then you too are a strong candidate. To be successful in this teaching assistant role you must be supportive, caring and can positively engage the student(s) you will be working with. You will be working mainly on a one-on-one basis providing support for a child who has autism and communication difficulties. You will need to display a motivational, engaging and patient manner throughout this role and be proactive to ensure the students are fully supported.
