Tradewind are currently working with an exceptional Secondary Academy in Brent, North West London who are seeking a recent Graduate of any discipline to join their team from September as a Learning Mentor. If this role is of interest to you, please apply ASAP, as interviews are to be held next week.

This is a full time, one-year contract which will see the successful candidate responsible for the care and guidance of this school’s Year 10 cohort. You will have a strong focus on improving attendance, behaviour and academic grades through motivating and encouraging students to achieve their best. You will work closely with class teachers, the Inclusion team and SENCo. You will also work with students on a one-to-one basis and run small group interventions to improve educational wellbeing. This is a pastoral position, so the majority of your work will be held outside of the classroom.

The successful candidate for this Graduate Learning Mentor position will:

• Be a recent graduate from an Oxbridge or Russell Group University, holding a minimum 2:1 degree

• Have strong A-Levels and GCSEs

• Be passionate about providing equal opportunities for students of all abilities

• Be kind, nurturing, motivating and encouraging

• Be able to build rapport and positive relationships

• Be a positive role model for students to achieve their best

• No prior experience is required, as training will be provided

• A positive, enthusiastic and confident attitude is essential
