Graduate IT Specialist
Our leading private security client is currently seeking a Graduate IT Specialist with a computer science degree. The IT Specialist would need experience in app development and networking. The role would require short duration travel on occasion, however, would predominantly be based in the W1, London office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cybersecurity Management: Implement and maintain robust security measures across the companies IT infrastructure to safeguard against cyber threats and data breaches.
* Application Security: Collaborate with the development teams to integrate security best practices into the application development lifecycle, conduct code reviews, and identify vulnerabilities.
* Network Security: Design, implement, and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs, to protect against unauthorised access and data exfiltration.
* Incident Response: Develop and maintain an incident response plan, including monitoring and alerting mechanisms, to promptly identify and mitigate security incidents.
* Compliance: Ensure that the companies systems and processes adhere to industry-specific compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS) and assist with audits as needed.
* Security Awareness: Educate and raise awareness among team members about security best practices, emerging threats, and compliance requirements.
* Security Tools and Technologies: Stay up-to-date with the latest security tools and technologies and evaluate their suitability for our organisation's needs
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
* Proven experience in application development, with expertise in multiple programming languages.
* Strong knowledge of networking principles and security protocols.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud security best practices is a plus.
* Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including threat modeling and risk assessment.
* Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Annual Salary: £30 – 40,000 (dependent on experience)
Holiday 20 days per year (+ all UK holidays)
