We are now recruiting for our well-established Freight Forwarding client who offer a worldwide freight forwarding service to UK manufacturers, exporters and importers who demand a cost-effective service together with a high degree of personal attention.
Our freight forwarding Client, a multi-national freight forwarder, they now have an exciting new opportunity for a Graduate to join the Freight teams at their location in St Albans. This is a very exciting opportunity for the right graduate to join this Freight Forwarding and Logistics company that is rapidly expanding and offers excellent progression within the business.
Working alongside and being trained / mentored by a Senior Operations Coordinator and as part of a team. The role is primarily involved in the European Road and Sea Freight operations department liaising with both clients and suppliers and managing export and import jobs from start to finish From quotation stage, making bookings, monitoring shipments in transit and processing final invoices and maximising the Gross Profit whilst giving excellent customer service.
Duties of the role:
* Being trained to help support the Operations team in coordinating the day to day Sea Freight imports and European road freight shipments.
* Completing the necessary export and import customs clearance.
* Raising job files and all of the appropriate paperwork.
* Processing the jobs on the system
* Extensive client liaison both written (email) and verbal (telephone).
* Extensive supplier liaison and negotiation.
* Internal liaison with the sales team assisting with quotations and service status information.
* Invoicing jobs on completion.
Experience / skills required
* Ideally a 2:1 or 2.2 degree.
* Living within a short commute to St Albans
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Numerate.
* Strong IT skills (Microsoft packages).
* A quick thinker with initiative.
* A willingness to learn and a good work ethic.

Salary and Benefits
* Circa £22,000 (Regular appraisals with progressive adjustments to remuneration)
