We are looking for a Graduate or recent Graduate Finance Assistant to join our Joint Venture team based on Hinkley Point C in Somerset. The JV that VSL is part of are involved in the building of the housing of the nuclear reactors.
Job Purpose and Scope:
As a Graduate Assistant Accountant, you will have the opportunity to work across the business supporting our projects in a team with multiple responsibilities and a focus on collaboration. The following are examples of areas of finance you will get involved in:
About the Role:
As an Graduate Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the project Cost Controller and be deeply involved in cost control. Your key areas of activity will include:
Discrepancy Management: Identify and manage any discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records and reporting.
Project Cash and Payments Monitoring: Monitor project cash flow and assist in managing payments.
Procurement Support: Assist in procuring goods for the project, ensuring efficient and timely delivery.
General Project Administration: Handle various project administration tasks such as timesheets, delivery notes, and supplier follow-up.
Manual Payment Requests: Raise manual payment requests as necessary to facilitate project operations.
Cost Control Reporting: Collaborate with the project cost controller to prepare comprehensive cost control reports.
Our graduate programme will start in September 2023 but there is the potential to start earlier if you have already completed your degree.
Essential & Desirable criteria:
A 2:1 in finance or a related subject
A genuine interest in the construction industry
