A role for an enthusiastic Electrical Technician to join a growing manufacturing team who specialise in testing and design of professional electrical devices and assemblies, encompassing a wide range of associated engineering tasks. The successful candidate will be working on a range of electrical test, design, and assembly activities, maintaining consistent effort and progress throughout each project. Quality of documentation is key whilst delivering on challenging timelines as part of a team of multi-skilled Engineers/Technicians
Duties
Hands-on approach with use of generic electrical test instrumentation ranging from multi-meter to oscilloscope. Prototyping, soldering and use of electrician type hand-tools is requisite.
Ability to produce 2D electrical schematics 3D assembly models using CAD package (SolidWorks preferred) in a revision-controlled environment. Mechanical experience beneficial.
Knowledge of PCB design and associated CAD documentation.
Experience of a manufacturing environment, including testing and quality control measures and monitoring.
Knowledge of electrical approvals, standards and regulations is required and ideally an understanding of EMC/RF techniques and awareness of the UK/EU compliance framework.
On a day-to-day basis, the candidate will be responsible for the following
Responsible for detailed engineering test and design support of electrical circuits, assemblies, and enclosures as well as commissioning activities to ensure products meet performance and safety requirements.
Interfacing on products and projects with both clients and colleagues regarding technical aspects schematics, layouts, and user requirement specifications with view to product generation.
Prepare electrical schematics, technical specifications, CAD models, PCB artwork, manufacturing documentation and instruction guides whilst employing revision-control. Highly organised in providing test results and technical evidence to ensure quality of design process and product function.
Effectively communicate with design, operations, and manufacturing personnel to ensure project and manufacturing timelines are achieved whilst maintaining a high level of associated documentation.
Occasional travel within UK including overnights on weekdays. Full driving licence required.
Qualifications
Educated to ONC/HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or proven equivalent experience
