When I generally speak with graduates of any discipline, or fresh-faced students ready to join the working world, the first thing they usually talk about is wanting to join a FTSE 100 business, with loads of training and development opportunity. For those that this statement will resonate with, this is one for you. How about the opportunity to work for a global leader in engineering and industrial software, with offices across the globe?

I imagine you’ve come out of a degree, or masters or PHD within engineering, and now you’re asking yourself, what’s next? You’ve probably looked through the job boards, at the endless roles advertised, wondering which path you should take, though hesitant from fear of being pigeonholed. Well, how about a role where you’ll work across a variety of projects, become a specialist in your field of either mechanical or electrical engineering? How would you feel about consulting global customers about the digital tech they’ve just purchased to transform their business, and now you’ll need to travel to them as their designated expert to help them implement it?

With any “good” opportunity, there should also be good benefits, I’ll let you decide if that’s the case here. You’ll receive a 12% contributory pension, 28 days annual leave not including bank holiday, you’ll get a 5 – 10% annual bonus, access to training and development, company phone and laptop, breakfast and lunch provided, flexible benefits of up to £1080 with your choice as to what that goes on.

Having a broad role within a global company, where you can grow into your chosen field sounds great, doesn’t it? Though perhaps, you’re looking for a bit more specificity as to what you’d do daily, and what qualifications you’d need to do it, we’ll have a look at the below:

You’ll work to understand your specific product back to front
You’ll participate in elaborating the backlog to meet Business and Customer requirements
Work to User Stories specifying requirements and acceptance criteria
