Graduate Electrical Controls Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week – Office based role

The Role
We are seeking an Engineering graduate who has a keen interest in Electrical Controls and Automation. You will learn how to design, programme, test, and maintain control systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Previous exposure to PLC systems would be advantageous. The products you will work with are experiencing a huge growth phase due to the push for renewable energy sources in the UK. As this growth continues it will present excellent opportunities to develop and enhance your career.
Example of responsibilities (You will be trained to be able to develop into this role):
Developing control system architectures: Design the overall structure of the control system, taking into account the specific requirements of the manufacturing process.
Prepare comprehensive documentation for control systems, including system diagrams, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Ensure that designs meet all relevant regulatory requirements for different global regions.
Develop new control systems for existing equipment.
Configure and program multiple PLC, HMI, SCADA, and IIoT systems.
Provide support during installation and commissioning processes.
Assist in estimating project costs and developing project timelines.
Participate in all stages of the project lifecycle, including capturing customer requirements.
Contribute to the design of assemblies and ensure compliance with design and safety codes.
Report to and take instructions from the engineering manager.
Adhere to all company policies and statutory Health and Safety regulations.
Perform test and inspections on control equipment.
Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM).Experience Required:
Degree in related subject is essential, such as Electrical or Automation Engineering.
Some experience within a placement year or some work experience would be preferred however not essential.
Interest in all aspects of the control system project lifecycle.
