Summary:
The Engineer will assist in the delivery of engineering projects within their respective discipline team on a day-to-day basis to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
Main Responsibilities/Duties:
Team/Company
* Attend internal project revie meetings, advise team members on progress of tasks
* Check own work and comply with the company’s QA on all design/project work to ensure compliance with company standards, carried out prior to any submission to engineer/senior engineer check.
* Secondary duties will involve from time-to-time development work on systems and procedures to assist in the efficient design of future projects
Design:
* Assist with the development of design proposals at sketch, detail design and production stages
* Assist with the development of the design through all BSRIA stages of the project – from planning to completion
* Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers and specialists to provide expert knowledge
* Work with senior engineering team to assist with delivery of the entire design process, preparation of stage reports/outline design, maintain comprehensive design files, produce written specifications, schedules and scheme design drawings for CAD
* Have knowledge of the latest regulations i.e., British Standards/building regulations
* Have a broad understand BSRIA work stages
* Knowledge of REVIT/BIM and the implementation of such software
* IT literate – ability to use or be open to the opportunity for using technical packages i.e., Hevacomp, AutoCAD, 3D Naviswork, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Amtech, Dialux, Relux etc…
Personal Specification:
* Relevant qualifications i.e., BTEC Level 3 (ONC), BTEC Level 4 (HNC/HND) or BTEC Level 5/6 (Degree) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* Minimum of 1 years’ post qualification experience within a design consultancy/contractor design environment
* Working towards Membership of either CIBSE or another recognised institute (desirable)
* Ability to take on guidance/advice and work as a team member
* Excellent communication skills, dealing with other employees
* Process excellent attention to detail, has a confident approach and a proactive character
* Well organised individual
* Production and work quality standards should be consistently high
Work Environment:
* This position is office/home based – but does not require flexibility to travel i.e., to client meetings and other offices
