Folkestone/ Dover
Various Start Dates
Salary: £18000 – £22000 p/annum (£90.00 – £110.00 p/day)
Graduates are sought for trainee roles in schools across South East Kent (Folkestone, Dover, Deal).
Graduates will be trained to be cover supervisors, working with secondary schools in Kent. You will cover key areas including Safeguarding and Child Protection, Classroom Management and Special Educational needs. You will enjoy 'taster days' in partner schools allowing you time to develop your skills before taking on a role fully.
Graduates will ideally have some experience working with secondary age children for example as a youth worker, a teaching assistant, a sports coach, a student ambassador or even just as a babysitter. Candidates will show the desire and confidence required to be a success in the classroom.
I am working with schools in Folkestone, Dover and Deal to recruit several roles. Applicants will, upon successful completion of training, be recruited to the supply pool and will be able to choose both the dates and locations of their work.
A cover supervisor is a classroom based role supporting a qualified teacher or covering for a qualified teacher in their absence. You will not need any subject specialism although if you have it will be a benefit. You will offer support across all areas of the curriculum and with age groups from year 7 to year 13. You will deliver pre-planned lesson material and supervise behaviour during class whilst ensuring that a safe and inclusive learning environment is maintained. You will not be expected to plan, prepare, mark or assess work. For those candidates with a passion for working with children but without the qualifications this can be an ideal role.
To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Ability to work with groups of students of secondary age (11 – 16)
Passion, desire, and confidence working within the classroom
Ability to follow policies including behaviour management and rewards
Flexibility in approach to classroom delivery and learning material
