I am currently working with a young, dynamic entrepreneur specialist contractor within the commercial sector. The business was founded 3 years ago and already grown to an impressive £15million turnover through very strong relationships and a personal track record of flawless delivery. Operating in prime locations in Central London they are based in the heart of the city. With their strong healthy pipeline, they are spread across London, Ireland and Europe.
They are now actively looking to recruit a recently graduated or partly qualified contract manager. You will be an integral member of the project team responsible for delivering programs and projects of varying size and complexity, with a primary responsibility to oversee the execution and ultimately the completion of projects.
The training programme they follow mirrors some of the best in the industry and is based around hands on experience. You will be working very closely with the thriving operations team and be shown by them how to create and follow processes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Manage costs and budget during the project.
* Ensure statutory compliance prior to projects starting on site.
* Manage health and safety before, during and upon completion of the construction phase.
* Attend the pre-start meeting and regular progress meetings ensuring high standards are being adhered to.
* You will be overseeing multiple projects.
* Provide RAMS, H&S site safety audits, permits etc.
* Supply detailed variation orders to maximize cost claims.
* Prepare work programs for client and company monitoring and workflow.
* You will be carrying out risk assessments and method statements.
* You will be making sure that all the aims of the project and programmes are met.
* Making sure the quality standards are achieved.
* Using IT systems and site sign in system to keep track of progress.
* Creating the programs and pre-con responsibilities
* Producing monthly reports to the Managing Director.
* Attending progress and programme meetings.
* Liaising with the client as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A degree in a Construction or related discipline
* Ability to read and interpret drawing specifications for construction projects is a distinct advantage.
* Effective communication, supervision, and managerial skills essential
* Excellent organisational and time management skills essential
* Must be a strong team player and also able to work on own initiative.
* Used to being in a team environment.
* Prepared to go the extra mile.
* Willingness to learn.
* Well-presented
* Client facing.
