Our clients continue to evolve to meet the needs of their varied client base and changing market conditions. It is now much more than a simple Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy. They also have dedicated teams of Geotechnical and Environmental Engineers, Land and Building Surveyors and Architects allowing them to provide a comprehensive, integrated development consultant service.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Responsible for undertaking supervised design input on a wide variety of civil engineering and building project
2. Undertaking site visits to investigate existing systems to aid evaluation of potential solutions
3. Predominately office-based design using CAD for water related projects
4. Attending site during construction where your designs have been implemented
5. Surveying drainage systems to inform design and CCTV requirements
6. Designing SUDS (soakaways, swales and balancing / attenuation ponds)
7. Hydraulic modelling of surface water drainage networks along with online or offline storage solutions
8. Engineering appraisals of developable land
9. Preparation of proposals for the maintenance and repair of drainage infrastructure such both surface water and wastewater
10. Preparation of cost estimates and project timescales for capital works
11. Contract Management including Contract preparation and administration
12. Assisting the project manager on various aspects of projects
13. Liaise with clients, other professional teams and disciplines on relevant aspects of projects
14. Undertaking own self development and promoting CPD activities.
15. Support the Office Director in managing the team’s workload
Essential Requirements
1. Relevant Civil Engineering Qualification, HNC/BTEC or above BSc / MEng
2. Minimum of 1-3 years post full time education / Minimum of 1-3 years post graduate experience
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office
4. Demonstratable hands on experience of AutoCAD 2D
5. Experience in site surveying and setting out
6. Experience in the design process associated with drainage and roads for commercial and residential developments
7. Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player, able to work on own initiative
8. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
