Our client is a global leader in the design, engineering and manufacture of network access products for the infrastructure, utility and construction markets. Headquartered in Northern Ireland, they are also part of a group that operates from multiple sites across the UK and Ireland, exporting to over 30 countries worldwide. Due to the continued growth of our business they currently have a vacancy for a Graduate Category Buyer.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will support operational delivery of reliable supply chain out of their High Carr site in Newcastle Under Lyme.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Working within the processes and procurement standards of excellence within the business, demonstrating procurement service value to stakeholders
* Working with a commercial focus on new projects
* Focusing supply chain activities by identifying cost savings and drawings on synergies across IPE and CRH business units
* Support the end to end ordering and tendering process within our Epicor ERP, Ariba and PDW systems.
* Involving all relevant stakeholders in a regulated and SOX compliant process
* Day to day activity delivery which enables tenders and business units to run on deliveries
* Assist in the identification of new suppliers, consolidate the numbers of current suppliers already in place whilst also increasing creditor days and terms
* Assist with supplier negotiations and contract performance to get the best service
* Drive reporting and analysis from the Epicor and PDW systems
* Working alongside production, technical, logistics, finance and commercial departments during various projects
Skills and experience:
Candidates must hold a Graduate Honours Degree. They must also possess the following skills and competencies:
* CIPS qualification or training is desirable
* A degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, IT, Engineering or Business is desirable
* Strong numerical skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work within a team
* Ability to collaborate, build networks and optimise work processes
* Ability to plan and align, while managing complexity
* Have a technical know how and ability to manage complexity
* Previous industrial experience is desirable
* Experience in a negotiating or bargaining environment is desirable
* Experience in ERP systems is desirable
