A Graduate Automation Engineer is required to support a rapidly expanding business. This role could suit a recent graduate with one or two years of work experience looking to develop in a complex manufacturing environment and be mentored by more senior engineers.

Graduate Automation Engineer responsibilities:

Support the development and implementation of the automation scope for new projects and existing applications
Candidates will be involved with control systems projects for major operators typically undertaking systems software and configuration design, testing and commissioning along with support and fault finding.
Support reliability improvements and in the event of any changes/ modifications, ensure they follow a documented management of change process
Robot programming
Project management experience around control and automation would be advantageous
Mechanical design
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Capable of building strong working relationships cross-functionally across different levels of an organisation
Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements.

Key experience & expertise required:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering with a strong preference to Controls, Automation, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a good practical knowledge PLCs ideally Siemens or Schneider
Can demonstrate successful outcomes on working on a project, either autonomously or as part of a larger team during the process of obtaining their degree.
The candidate must be able to travel overseas on an occasional basis
The candidate must have the right to work permanently in the UK
Full UK driving licence required
